Patron of BVS-Nepal

Since Few months, Mr. Bhusan Dahal, executive producer of Kantipur Television became the new local patron of BVS-Nepal.

BVS LaunchAlthough it was a humble beginning in 1988 as a rookie program producer of Nepal Television (the only television station of the country then) Bhusan Dahal became a household name with a popular show SUNDAYPOP that he hosted as a VJ in 1989-1991.

Bhusan Dahal today is an integral name vis-à-vis the industry of television in NEPAL. In his 25 year television career Dahal has contributed more than two thousand hours of television programming ranging from documentaries to music videos, television dramas to travel shows, feature films to political and social talk shows.

He is an active professional involved in modernizing the television industry in Nepal and has contributed significantly in transferring knowledge to the younger generation of television professionals in the country and the region (South Asia).

His 2006 feature film KAGBENI made its mark at home and abroad. It was attributed a trendsetter in terms of content and technology that led the Nepali films to enter the digital era in the real sense. Several international film festivals keenly screened and recognized the film.

Fireside hosted by Bhusan is probably the most awaited weekly television talk shows in the country and is equally popular with the Nepali Diaspora around the world. This respected talk show has featured personalities ranging from heavy weight political figures of the country and the region to international film stars, academicians to royalty, professionals representing various walks of life to a common man.

Bhusan currently heads Kantipur Television as its Chief Executive Producer.

Honors: GORKHA DAKSHIN BAHU conferred by His Late Majesty King BIRENDRA in 1997 for the meritorious service rendered to the country through the medium of television and several awards and recognitions received in Nepal and abroad.
